Purpose
Nourish Saginaw seeks to raise awareness about two large public health issues that is impacting residents of Saginaw County, Michigan: Obesity and Food Access. These public health concerns are highlighted in the BWell Saginaw 2023-2026 Community Health Assessment Report, with evidence of a need for support and intervention. By providing educational resources and information about these topics, Nourish Saginaw helps individuals learn strategies to improve their health to ultimately live longer, happier lives.

Our Reason
Saginaw County residents face numerous severe public health issues that are impacted by many socioeconomic factors. The BWELL Saginaw 2023-2026 Community Health Assessment Report identified nine public health concerns for the Saginaw County community:

Because obesity & related chronic conditions and food access are deeply connected to each other through nutrition and other factors, it is important to address both topics together. By emphasizing these topics, Nourish Saginaw seeks to encourage positive health behaviors and improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
